Glacier? hope you are reading this, I have read his forum many times over in the rebuild diary. I am having trouble with my transgo kit, I have done all the spring/valve mods but im am stumper on the drilling.... and the only reason im stumped is because I have NO IDEA what size drill bits came with the kit!!!! They are not labled!!!!!! I do not own a set of numbered drill bits so I do not know what bit to use!!! PLEASE HELP anybody.

Numbered drill bits go higher in number as they go smaller in diameter.

So a #80 is smaller than a #60. Hope that helps.

Also, there is a chart here, so you can measure with a caliper or micrometer if you have one to see what size you have.

yea thats wut i just figured out at orchard, thanks. The problem is that .053 isn't a numbered drill bit, its just the actual decimal size. I cannot find drill bits labled in this matter ANYWHERE! so the best i can do is convert the decimal to the numbered size.... but thats not perfect. And what size are these drill bits that came in my trans-go kit???? they are not labled! dang this is very frustrating.

Sometimes the old style hardware stores (ACE, TrueValue) carry numbered drill bits. If they have a drill bit gauge at Orchard, you could take the ones from the Trans-Go kit to Orchard to identify them. Or find someone with a caliper or a micrometer and measure the diameter to identify them.

i can measure them in a bit and tell you

the smaller one is.055 and the larger one is .085,give or take alittle

I had the same problem with my transgo kit... Wound up going to harbor freight and picked up a number drill bit set for 10 bucks... Worked great no guessing

wow thatnks for telling me the size of the trango bits!! but its a little late.... The hole in the valve body was supossed to be drilled .063 (which I thought was the bigger bit!!! Is that valve body no good now? I accidently drilled it to .085 apparently....... why the hell cant they lable their dang bits?

they didnt give you a rang of sizes to drill it to,like .063 to .095?if so it would just shift harder, but by no means am i any good with an auto trans so you might want to double check with some one!
