Rebuilt transmission..now bucking and hard shifting

2013 Explorer (Limited). ..at 67k truck had no reverse...rebuilt the transmission - 4 months later...truck is bucking, jard shifting and shifting up and down on its own. its now going back to the transmission shop again. this is my 4th explorer since 2000...never had such problems...and very very disappointed in Ford!!

All advice is greatly appreciated !!

Please add the trim level (Base, XLT, etc.) to your profile to it shows in the margin. That info can be helpful in replying to some issues. Thanks.

Who rebuilt it?

My sisters Chrysler Van at 4 years old needed their trans rebuilt.. came with a 1 year warranty. 3 weeks before the end of the 1yr, it blew again and needed to be towed. had to be rebuilt again.

It isn't every Vehicle . and not just Ford. things do break. as your 4th explorer and not having issues with your first 3, that just goes to show that it isn't the norm.

It's difficult to assess the problem with the information given, but make sure whoever rebuilt the transmission puts in an OEM solenoid. Based on my experience, aftermarket solenoids only work temporarily.

Thank you! this is a Limited edition. at 67k the transmission has basically disintegrated. An entirely new transmission was required . It started bucking and downshifting with no power & lost reverse. The new transmission continues to hardshift and buck then downshift on its own as soon as it gets warmed up. I have made 4 payments on a vehicle that doesn't work and doesn't register anything wrong on the assessments. very very unhappy to say the least!
