I'm planning on painting my calipers but first I need to figure out how to get them clean. Does anyone know a good source for an acid-based wheel cleaner. I know there are braker caliper painting kits that include a cleaner but I wanted to use an acid-based cleaner to really get in those crevices. I'm assuming an acid-based cleaner won't hurt the rotors as I know there are acid-based chrome or wire-wheel cleaners out there. So if you could recommend an acid-based cleaner I would appreciate any info.

concentrate engine drgreaser? maybe from a parts place.

go to autozone and look for Eagle One Etching Mag... its in a silver squirt bottle with a blue label... mite be phosphoric acid but i forgot if thats it or not.. but i kno its acid cuz it stings like **** in a cut and smells awful haha but it cleans well
