You will also need an install kit aka: bearings, races, shims, crush sleeve, marking compound etc..., and then you either need to grind the inside edge of one or more teeth on the ring gear to allow the factory cross pin to go back into the carrier or you can buy a notched cross pin which then you wont have to grind any of the teeth, and then of course gear lube.

From what I know... No. I believe you need a few more toosl in order to set everything to the right depth and all that good stuff... I thought you were 4x4? If so you'll need to do both front and back in order to keep your drivetrain from tearing itself up...

Btw, I thought you were selling the X, did I miss something again?

lol yeah i was, a mechanic ended up buying the parts i was parting out, and found a drive shaft for cheap and fixed it as the trade, thought i posted. wife said keep it as a toy since ive already done all this crap to it, and since the drive shaft was a freebie w/ install,

yeah im 4x4 so just 4.56 in front and rear axles is all?

i tried a search, still reading through all the threads to get more info

gear lube as in diff fluid? cause that is what brought all this up, was gettin ready to do fluid drain/fill and i thought while it was off.... make it a 4.56, just wasnt sure what all was needed.

Ive heard of people reusing the old shims and crush sleeve with the new ring and pinion set but if you want it to last I'd recommend taking it all to a professional shop to have it done, no use having to do it twice.

i found an install kit for about 100.00 the 4.56 are 200.00, so i need them gears for the front and the back and then two install kits (one for each)

Yep plus whatever its gonna cost to have them installed. Maybe you can find a mechanic who does work on the side who is willing to install the gears for cheap.

Never re-use a crush sleeve! The only time you do that is with a solid crush sleeve with shims which are made for the Toyota axles and the Ford 9.

You can reuse old shims if you are lucky and get the right combination but almost always you will need a shim pack.

Also if you want a locker or two NOW IS THE TIME

You can also rebuild your factory limited slip (assuming you have one)

looks like its gonna be a waiter.... lol got a few other things that came up last night.. well missing last night..... got some **** stolen, havta replace it and add car alarm, so 4.56 gonna wait a while, stick with my ls3.73
