Cali has the smog emissions................. not sure what all it calls for though

search the forum for - California smog emissions - plenty of replys on that subject :dunno:

Well,,

I moved to Wa from Cali. and I found it much easier in dealings with the DMV in Cali, just takes a little longer depending on where you live. Take your 2 forms of I.d. , The title information just incase, physical address relocation form, the vehicle will have to be inspected by CHP prior to registry to make sure it is within California vehicle code, smogged I believe before goin in to DMV, old registration card, and proof of insurance I am not too sure about, but couldnt hurt. All of the road laws are pretty much the same. Basically anything that your common sence tells you to bring, bring it and then some. Trust me, ya dont want to get all the way there and sit for a few hours only to be told "You need to bring this and this and these". Not cool,

A little long winded but it should all be there.

here's what i did when i moved to CA 3 weeks ago:

1. get a CA drivers license (go to DMV get the form, get your pic taken, go pass the test and wait for your new card in the mail)

2. get an out of state registration form and fill it out while getting your car SMOG checked.. after passing the SMOG, go back to DMV and get your vehicle verified.. they will fill up the form for it and give it to you.. go back to the "start here" counter and tell them you have the car verified already and they will give you another number for the final registration steps.. make sure you have your registration card with you..

3. after registering it with the "counter people" they will tell you to go to a window for your stickers and tags after that you are all done :D

it took about an hour and a half since i went there without an appointment for the registration but i had my psp and headphones with me so time flew by..
