Releasing tension belt to work on alternator

Help! Friend just bought used 1991 Ford Explorer 4.0L and needs to work on alternator. He cannot find how to release the tension on the belt. Any help.
 






John... I had to get at from underneath the vehicle, it is a 2-person job both ways. Now nto all of them are the same, but if yours is like mine, the tensioner is on the passenger side, about halfway up the compartment. It uses a 13mm bolt. Like I said it'd be very tough to do this solo. But if you can see your tensioner but can't get at it because the radiator fan is blocking you, try from underneath. Hope that helps a bit...
