I was wondering if it was possible to relocated a cone air filter to the opposite side of the engine bay near the radiator fluid and washer fluid. i was thinking about doing this because i could make my own heat shield around the cone filter because its a pretty tight fit where the where the stock air box is and where the cone would normally go. My main concern that might make this not work is the wiring connected to the MAS wouldn't reach. I would also guess i would have to make a different intake tube to connect the the filter.

Is this mod possible? Any suggestions?
Thanks

I was thinking about doing this myself cause there so much open room on that side. If you extended the wire for the MAF to reach that side I figure it work out pretty nicely.

This is what I did. It works quite well.

Sure, but I'll have to snap a few.

To make it easier, you could use the intake off a 99 like I did to get clearance for coil over shocks. You would have to relocate the radiator overflow / washer fluid tanks, but there is a bunch of room in the corner. I ended up relocating the battery to the left side and keeping the intake on the right side.

Any picts of where and how you secured the battery to the left side?

I will find a pic, but I just made a battery holder out of some angle from an old mattress frame and welded it to the top of the inner fender.
