Remote for 96 X Sport

Hi,

I bought my 96 Explorer Sport used and it has power locks, but it came with no remote to lock/unlock doors. Does anyone know if remote was optional or standard with power locks for 96 Sport? Is there a panel I can remove in order to see the receiver?

If you have the keypad on the drivers door, you have keyless- you just need to get some remotes.

Yes, I have keypad on the driver's door. By the way, my X is 2 door, I am not sure if it makes a difference. Is there anything I can do to double check before ordering a remote?

Borrow a remote from a friend? You can use one from any Ford vehicle made before 1998.
