Ok, I am new to the forum and I have a very odd question. About a month ago, my remote stopped working. I couldn't unlock, lock, panic or anything. Also, my Theft Light on the dash would not come on when I would lock the doors, which it always does. Well, it started working a couple of days later, so I didn't think it was the battery in the remote. It started doing this again yesterday. And the Theft light won't come on and I can't use the keyless entry pad on the drivers door either. What could the problem be???? :(

Hey man, just saw you ask about this over on 3.8. I think that from what I could find, you are able to "resynch" your remote with the main control box thing and that might help. I found a few other posts similar to this and no one really ever found an answer. Hope someone that knows for sure can chime in.

Thanks man. Me too. This is really getting on my nerves. I hope it isn't an electrical problem. :(

Potentially, its a loose wire at your PATS... check to ensure that it has battery and grd when your "no theft light" condition shows up. I think the remote not working is just another symptom of the PATS being "dead".

This same thing happened to my '95 xlt. It is probably a bad rap (remote antitheft personality) module- located in the jack compartment mounted on the wheel well, driver's side. You might want to unplug/replug it to see if it will reset. I found one on ebay and it solved all the problems you describe. Try searching this forum for rap module or anti theft-I know I've seen pictures of it.
