Depends if that includes keyless entry and security system. I paid about $300 5 years ago.

Can they install it with out affecting stock keyless entry system?
Best Buy / Circuit city had a remote start a while back for 125.00-175.00 installed? Might want to check them out?

look for around $300 for a quality one. always ask about distance for the remote to work. Many of the $99 advertisments wont work unless you are on top of the car!

Had mine installed by the dealer (who probably subbed it out) Cost more but the peace of mind is worth it. This is a better unit that has a little antenna. Works well from far away. Integrates with existing keyless entry so there is only 1 remote to carry.

i have one in my 02 and i use the factory fob still.its set up that you hit the unlock botton 3 times on your factory key fob,and then if you would like to lock it after you have started it just hit the lock botton, and it is set to run for 12mins,and the shut dwn, also i can still use the combo lock on the door..any question please get back to me...the unit was 75bucks and then after it was installed i gave me brother $50 bucks, well worth it..At his shop thay install them for $275.included parts "except thay need a spare key for the blk box""

i hope this helps

all we run are astrostart's they have worked well and we have used them for 8 years now. i'm getting a new 2-way installed on wed. payed $425 installed. 2000ft range 2way..all that crap.

just installed mine on my 2002 2 weeks ago simple it was.. bought it off of Ebay it is a ford codealarm remote start. the remotes look just like the factory ones.. it starts from far away. and has almost every feature... i paid $99.00 for it on ebay and it is the silver edition and there is one abouve it the gold one...
no extra key is needed. you mneed a tramsp[onder which is a ribbon cable that you wrap around the ignition switch,

ready nost weekend to install a code alarm remote starter on my 1995 which is going to be more difficult i am sure ...

How do you get the plastic cover off to get the ribbon cable around the ignition switch? Also do all 99's have the security key?If not how can you tell if yours has it or not.

anyone know what part 2000gpr has, i;m looking to do the same thing

I have a Clifford Remote Start on mine. It starts, leave run, unlock/lock, opens the back hatch (the window). $300 installed. It works from way far away. There's an antenna right by the rear view mirror

i have a python remote start on my 05 xlt. start/stop. lock/unlock, arm/disarm security (impact, starter, and broken window). 2 way remote pager looking thing, 1 mile line of sight range: $450 installed

I was quoted 340.00 installed for astrostart which was second to the top model, i am really thinking about for these south dakota winters

I have a Python remote starter, it works with the keyless entry and factory alarm, except you need an adapter that uses a spare key in order to fool the system into thinking there's a key in the ignition, Cost me $350 including installation charges. Comes in handy on those cold winter days or hot summer days.

I have a code alarm remote start. It works about 1 in every 10 times.

I hit and hold the start button for a few seconds and it responds with a beep. I have not been able to find any information on this. Thinking about taking it all out and not dealing with it anymore.

just put an avital 5303 on my 02 and i love it. remote start, keyless entry, alarm, everything, and the best part is i only paid $120 for it off amazon. but i did have to pay $120 for install and another $65 for a bypass, so it all came out to about $310 installed. i love it though, only had it for a day and im already lovin it.

I had this one installed about two years ago. Forget what I paid for it, but it has worked flawlessly. Has an antenna mounted on the inside of the windshield with a blue LED on it when it's active. They offer a one year warranty on the unit, and a two year warranty on the remotes. I'd buy another.
