Simply scrape it off with your finger nail. But if it's too hard, then use a hair dryer, heat it up then scrape it off with your finger nail. It's that easy. Good luck!
yea, i wouldnt use anything other than a fingernail and some heat. if you have one of those big square stickers, it might leave a lot of residue. just use some goof-off to clean off all the extra gunk. good luck
The best way I've found to do it is to: 1.) Heat it up real good with either a hair dryer or heat gun, then 2.) Peel it off using your finger nail, 3.) If a residue is left use regular gasoline and a rag to wipe it off and finally wash the area where you used the gasoline. It may take a few minutes but it will work. Or the other option is to have the dealership remove it before you actually take delivery.
I hate when dealers do this. They should stick to the license plate frames and give people the option of not being a driving billboard.
I would use the methods above but remember to give a good coat of wax if you use the goof-off or gasoline. I've always used afta which works wonders. But all these products will strip the wax right off leaving your paint unprotected.
I'll remove a sticker easily. What I didn't like is when they once put on a plaque with foam backing. That was a real pain to get off!!! I took it off immediately but the foam was stuck way too well. It should be considered vandalism.
I did this when I bought the STi... Well, I didn't ask them to skip the stickers, since they only used a small black sticker that was stuck on half an hour before, it took all of 8 seconds to peel off. Definitely no wash and wax though, and I had to spend about 4 hours getting off all of the protective plastic sheet residue the first time I washed it!
Advertising is everything. Most salesmen will tell you it wont be on there, but somehow it "accidentally" gets put on. There is a local dealer here who is willing to lose the sale rather that sell a car without his logo!
At least its better than 10+ years ago. They used to DRILL a coupla holes in your trunk, ALL THE WAY THRU, so they could BOLT on the metal dealer logo! Here in Mass, that was always the 1st place you got rust! Thank god for 3M stickers! Now you can pop them off and it is like they were never there.
