Hi,

Just installed a JVC AVX740 double DIN video head unit in my 98 XLT. Everything looks and works great. Since the stock 6 disc changer is no longer connected (or required) I think that it should go to make more room in the console. How difficult is it to remove?

Thanks,

RMH

Easy
Removal

Disconnect the battery ground cable. -Up to you if you want I don't.
If equipped, disconnect and remove the cellular phone and bracket.
Remove the console compartment trim panel.

Remove the coin holder/tissue box holder.
Position the CD changer aside.
Remove the screws.

Disconnect the connector.
Remove the screws.
Remove the CD changer brackets.
Remove the CD changer.

Scucci,

You'd be doing me huge favor if you'd embellish the removal process. I'm missing something.
