Removing Chrome Bumper Sides

i am going to remove the chrome sides of the bumper on my X. how do i remove these? will they just unclip like my rocker panels or????????

there is three bolts per side. Undo the bolts out it comes. Beware, it aint pretty under there . I coated mine with rhino linings so it looks good, but theres like a grommet there and holes and stuff.

how do i access these bolts? also there is a screw on the fender lip that you didnt mention i think

I've just removed that chrome off of my X, and it looks terriable. I'm thinking of cutting it off all together. I'm trying to imagine how it would look though.

are you talking about the chrome bumper sides bellow the rear fenders and behind the wheelwells? if so how did you remove them?

Yup, thats what i'm talking about. Just stick your head inside the wheel well, there are 2 bolts that need un-screwing. Take them out (I forget the size) and start yanking. The black plastic molding have some clips that need some fiddling with.

sorry I just now caught this! Yes, the bolts are behind the body panel. If you want to know how it would look, try to find some good pcitures of Ryan Penner's or Rick's site, they've both completely cut off that portion of the rear quarter panel (sawzall is your friend so I hear)... I've considered doing that since I landed on my exhaust and dented one of them pretty good.

i like that look rp54!!!! i did take it off on friday. too much free time b/c the site was down i guess...it sucks must find sawzall...will wait till bigger tires though
