Removing Fan on a 5.0

I have a radiator leak and it turns out that is is some seal up front that i need to replace the gasket. I know what i have to do, i am in the process of doing it. I have taken off probably 20 fans in my life, but for some reason, i can't get this fan to come out. On these engines (5.0), is there any kind of trick to get em out. I am trying not to remove the radiator, its a real pita on my Explorer.

Down on the farm we use a air hammer with a long bit. Just hit the big nut with a few shots and it should come right off. I tried the big fan clutch wrenches and the hammer way is much faster!
