removing front cats, will I get check engine light?

If I remove the front cats on my 2000 V8 5.0 Explorer will the check engine light come on? will it make the car run bad or rich/lean?

I'm pretty sure you only have one cat on each side. The little ones are just silencers. They don't do much. Don't quote me though because Im not sure on yours.

Front and rear are both cats. And yes removing the front cats will cause a check engine light, and the vehicle to run poorly.
