I have a 1998 Ford Explorer 4x4 XLT and i was wondering how to get the original indash CD player out. I've heard you need some kind of tool or also you can do it by bending a wire hanger. So if anyone can help me with directions on how to, or where i can get this tool or whatever, please let me know! THANKS! :D

You should be able to get the right tools at most auto stores. They're about five bucks. There's a picture on this page, it's the second one down.

You put a tool in the holes on each side of the radio. And push them until they kind of click. Pull the tools outward towards the doors, that will release springs then pull straight out towards the back.

You really don't need the special tool. You can just remove the screws from the bezel that surrounds the radio and slide the radio out a little bit. Then stick a thin screw driver down each side of the radio to release the clips. The first time I did it I messed around with the bent coat hanger for about an hour before I was able to release the clips. Then I realized how much easier it is just to remove the bezel screws.
