Removing rear wiper arm on 94 X

I was just outside trying to get the rear wiper arm off but I can't. I got the front ones off easily! My haynes book says to move the arm into the service position, which means pull them out like the front ones. My rear arm won't pull out like the front ones did. Can anyone help?

It's suppose to fold out sorta like the front ones. When it's folded out, get a screw driver and there is a similar clips that you need to kinda pull out I guess while pulling out on the whiper arm. It's tough, I got mine off but it took a while.

well it looks like it's supppose to. It should fold pretty puch straight out from the tailgate. If it doesn't I don't know what to tell ya.

alright, I got it to fold out but I had to actually bend the metal back about a 1.5 cm. But now that I have it folded out I don't see any mechanism like I did on the front wiper arms to remove it. Can anyone take a pic to show me?

The rear arm just pulls straight off. There are no little levers likt the front ones have.

I've been yanking pretty hard on it. I don't want to damage the wiper motor. Is there some trick to it? I'm thinking maybe because I had to bend the metal back just to get the wiper arm to fold back that it's different from the stock arm?

my rear wiper on my 97 is like that too i can't get it to fold out.....i pull with a bit of force and it just won't go....nothing like my 92 which folder out very easy

On my 92 there is a little tab, similar to the front ones but a little different. It is very hard to get off is should be under where it folded out at. I used a small screw driver get it off.

Look for a small tab

on the shaft of the motor where the wiper arm actually slips on to the shaft. It's tough to see, but it's there on my '93. By pushing in (horizontally) with a screw driver, it will release the tension and pull right off the shaft. You may have to open the rear window in order to get a good view of it, straight down from a top view.

I swear, there is nothing there, no switch, not anything. Can someone take a picture of it so I can see if I am completely blind or if it's really not there?

I'd take one but I don't have one anymore, it broke so I took it off and never got back to replacing.
