If they are like mine then there are two lower bolts and then a third bolt near the very top of the bracket.

Plus all the plungers going into the body, right? I don't know.. its been soo long. :D

There are three bolts per bracket. One (up high on the bracket) actually bolts into the body with a captured nut. The other two bolt thru the flange formed at the bottom of the rocker panel. And, as Section 525 mentioned, there are 19 (per side) snap-in fasteners that hold the running board to the rocker panel itself. I had to use a small flat bladed screw driver to compress the arrow-head shaped snaps so that they would pop out. If you're careful, you won't mar the paint (too much).

Now you have to decide what to use to fill those holes. A) Rocker panel moldings from another Ex or B) Rubber plugs that I just sourced from Asia. I'll sell you 40 (forty)of them for $20 which is cheaper than if you go with interior panel fasteners like Jefe. Those run around $0.80 each ($32 total). Let me know if you're interested, I've got pictures I can email.

Dave.

my running boards... arent connected to my body... i just have (i guess) 3 bolts per bracket... i saw the molding your talking about with the clips, but those arent anywhere to close to the brackets... my running boards arent right along my body...

Ahh.. you're talking about nerf bars, aren't you? :D

The bolts should be in clear view. There are 8 per side. Take them out and there is nothing else to do. They might be rusted on, just kick them hard or step on them :D

yea i only saw 6 on each side, didnt look higher up... like everyone said, gotta take the rest out when i get home
