Removing step bars

Is hardening foam similar to the expanding foam in a can used for insulation? I read somewhere around here that it dampens noise when sprayed inside the body panels.

I had a moron neighbor that did that- filled his doors, then wondered why he "couldn't open his G-D windows anymore..." :D

I like them off much better! Now for some bigger tires (hopefully) soon.

mine had plastic trim i guess that is what it is called. i have alot of holes and then i found the pass rear door had rust on it. still undecied on how to fill holes. ive used the foam before but it was on a really rusted s-10. it worked good and look good when we was done with it. i would make sure if anyone who uses the foam to make sure the door is open or there isnt any holes for it to leak out and not to use to much or the doors wont open. trust me i found that out the hard way lol

I removed my running boards and was going to do the foam idea as well, but I have decided to weld the holes, sand down, bondo, then herculiner the bottom half of the rockers. Should be able to do all this for less than 50 bucks.

does anyone have close-up pictures of their running boards removed and replaced with Herculiner? I'd really be interested in seeing how it comes out.

I don't like it. Makes an otherwise classy, more pricey lookin truck look cheap. Somehow it looks incomplete too. Just my .02c

If someone want to get rid of their OEM step bars on the Ex Sport, I have an 03 thats been looking for them.:p:
