Alright if this has been asked before then I'm sorry, I ran a search but there is so much info on this site!

I killed my Transmission with 223,000 miles on Wensday. I found a place that will ship me a used Transmission with a carfax report to show this, for $665.00. The transmission has 32,000 miles on it, again they can verify this with a carfax report.

So here is my question. How hard is it to just take off the old transmission, the put on the newer transmission? Would it be just as easy as drain, remove all the bolts etc...., drop the transmission, drag it out from under the car, then put the new one back on, or is there more to it?

I have done alot of work on cars in the past, I have built many imports (sorry to say that) and have modified F150's etc....but this is a first with a transmission.

Thanks

If you have experience turning wrenches, then you shouldn't have a problem. Take pictures, and make a photo thread of this step by step process. You could refer to a previous picture if you are not sure if you did something correctly, or if you forgot to do something while reinstalling it.
