where can i find out how to replace front ball joints , especially removing the front axels from the transfer case?

My Chiltons manual has an adequate description of all that. I think Haynes is ok, too for that operation. Autozone has got an electronic copy of Chiltons on their website under vehicle repair guides. Libraries often carry higher end manuals, if you feel like checking those out.

Most write-ups and manuals ALWAYS leave out the front antilock brake sensor removal. I guess they were written for pre-93 Bronco II's, Rangers, and Explorers...those guys have it easy changing ball joints. For the rest of us, removing the ABS sensor is about 50% of the job, 'cause the bolts that hold it on are usually rusted beyond help.
