Replace drivers door window actuator assembly

2002 drivers window won't go up, pull the door panel off and the thin wire broke just outside the drive motor. Need to replace, I believe, the entire drive mechanism.

I see the assembly costs $80 or so online.

How tuff a job is it to pull out the old and put in a new power assembly / connect back up? Any detailed instructions out there, chilton's book doesn't have any info on the job.

Dealer wants $350 parts / labor, is it worth doing myself, or, give it to the dealer?

yes, the thin wire broke. motor still runs. the window is pulled up and held up with a zip tie

Okay, I need this info as well. The cables are still in tact in mine but I have two ends flopping around and I found one plastic piece broken in half. I am having a hard time figuring out the routing, but I guess I will have to buy a whole new assembly just to get the plastic pieces I need.

Where is the best place to order the regulator from?

I sent the OP some pages from the 2003 FSM. I don't know how much help it will be to him and I recommended that he open up the passenger door to study as he repairs the driver's side door. I will send the same to you if you send me a PM with your email address.

Look on ebay for parts or check salvage yards.

Craig, I found the assembly on ebay, $80 ish plus shipping.
