Hey guys, im new to the site. This is probably an easy answer but i need to know anyway. I recently picked up a 00' XLS from my uncle for a good price. I want to replace the headlights and get something brighter. Problem one is that i am unsure how to actually get to the bulbs after opening the hood. It seems like a tight area, any suggestions? Also, im wondering which headlights you reccomend. Nothing too expesive just something better than stock like Piaa star whites or something along those lines.

I am new to the site as well. I have a 97 sport and I had to remove the battery to make life easier for changing the bulb on the driver's side. the hardest part from me was getting the clip off and then pulling on the bulb housing at the same time. If you can get someone with smaller hands and see if they can do it. I don't have a reccomendation for a type. I just use the standard OEM replacement from AutoZone and I have onoy had to replace the bulb twice with over 200,000 miles.

Silverstar bulbs from Sylvania are a great bulb. A bit on the pricey side. You'll need 9007 bulbs. Yes, it's a tight squeeze for sure to get those buggers out. Smaller hands definintely help.

Yup I also like the Silverstars.

Remove the battery for the left headlight,
remove the air box for the right headlight.

ALWAYS REMEMBER. DO NOT touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers when instaling the bulb. Gaurnateed a very short life.

Yeah I have to replace the front parking light bulbs there are 2 per side? and man they are in a tight spot. Any sugestions for those and part #'s? Also a rear back up light too.

Corners are dead easy (i.e. the parking lights). There are two screws holding the assembly in place. Pull out the whole assembly and replace the bulbs. Tails are even easier. Once again, two screws on each side and tug the tails out of place and replace the bulbs that need replacing.
