I have tried to get used to the warning lights in the side view mirrors but they are not safe. In the last week or two I've nearly been sideswiped by high speed freeway traffic. When I looked in the driver side mirror the light was not on. I signaled and as I moved left the light came on and I got flipped the bird. Enough said about that except we drive after dark frequently on a two lane road the the right side mirror keep flashing as we pass guard rails and trees.
So, I went to Ford parts and discovered non-limited mirrors with the convex inserts are available...$117 for the driver....$130 for the passenger side. According to the parts guy they just pop out. Haven't verified that with the body shop but what concerns me is whether I can leave the lights inside the housing. I'm sure that if I disconnect the lights the computer will either drive me nuts with warnings or the car won't even work.
Any feedback is appreciated. I know I can solve my problem with a couple of stick on mirrors but I do like the mirror inserts and have never liked tacky accessories.
Thanks,
Sharin
