- 1993 Mazda Navajo 5 speed
Last week I finally got in the new fuel pump assembly for my 5 sp '93 Navajo.
The first thing I noticed was with the new pump the Nav starts and is running a little quicker than before.
Prior to the old original pump going out I was having shifting issues with some grinding in 1st and 2nd and occaisional slipping in 3rd. The truck has 237,5xx miles on it.
On the first drive w new pump I noticed smoother shifting and no grinds. It's kept up now for over a week and a few hundered miles. All I can think is the old pump was throwing off the acceleration and thus the shifting issues.
All I can say is knock on wood for $48. and change I fixed 2 big problems.
