I replaced my TPS today before work on the advice of my mechanic and I had a VERY positive reaction from the truck.

1.Felt like I added 10-15 HP
2.Smoothed out my rough idle
3.No longer idles low when coming to a stop
4.Accelerates silky smooth
5.Improved throttle response
6.Now less prone to slipping into 3rd when on highway
7.No more check engine/od-off light

I have been chasing this "gremlin" in my truck since day one, and best of all it only cost me 24 bucks!

Sounds like someplace for me to start as well, were is this TPS located exactly, and was it a dealership item.ITs been awhile.:chug:

I got mine from autozone. It sits right on top of the throttle body and is an easy replacement. Just be careful not to strip the two screws holding it on.

What were the original problems you were having? A lot of your cures sound like my problems. Were you losing fuel mileage? I'm down to 13.6 mpg according to my messege center.

Well mileage has seemed to stay the same, but I'm getting on the throttle alot more now though because of the increased power.

However, let me add #2 and #3 are back.

#3 isn't as bad but #2 is still the same as it was before.
