I want to replace the sub in my Qlogic stealthbox wityh the JL audio one. Which 1 will fit the box. 10w6? 10w1? Also what should the ohm load be. I see they have dual 6 ohm versions on ebay. How do I hook this up to a 4 ohm amp? Should I just buy a 4 ohm version?
Thanks

the dual 6 ohm subs are best for 3 subwoofer systems. one sub in series creates a 12 ohm load which isn't very efficient. in paralell it creates a 3 ohm load, but many amps are not stable below 4 ohm mono. just get a 4 ohm svc. since you have a stealth box, you wont get very deep hard hitting bass anyway, so a W3 or W6 will not perform to it's potential. i dont even think they will work in such a small enclosure.

Do you have a Qlogic box or a JL stealth box. It seems like you think they are both the same. If you have a Qlogic you should get the volume of the box and then go to JL's web page and see which sub will work with that volume. If you have a JL stealth box it comes with a W1 and the only sub that will fit in its place is a W6.

The Stealthboxes come with a 10w0. A 10w1 and a 10w6 will fit, but a 10w3 will not. I have a Stealthbox with a 10w6, and it sounds great, if a little boomy for my tastes. This weekend I am replacing the w6 with an a/d/s/ sub. The w6 is only available in a 6-ohm DVC version. You can run just one of them, provided your amp is stable to below four ohms.

peace

Mike
