I just wanted to let anyone know who might have suffered from the same problem I did in reguards to your headlights fogging up with a mysterious film that won't come off.

I just received a pair of new headlight assemblies from a place called "The Headlight Wharehouse". They only cost 59.90 each as oppossed to 110.00 from Pep Boys. This place does not charge extra handling either. I payed 12 or 13 dallors for the USPS priority service for 2 headlights and that was it besides the advertised price. The overall quality seems to be OK. They also came with 2 sylvania 65/45watt bulbs. The address is below. ------------ Josh

Just an FYI that I won my headlights from the same outfit on ebay.

$88 for the pair plus $11.25 for shipping.

Try searching ebay for this: 2for1 NEW HEADLIGHT s 95-01 ford EXPLORER or

2for1 NEW HEADLIGHT

They shipped out the headlight assemblies with the sylvania bulbs very quickly. No problems on my end.

So hopefully, you can save $30 by using ebay with the same folks.

Oh now you tell me! Good fast service though. Thanks for the info. Hopefuly it will help someone else. Lord knows I'm always in the hunt for a good parts connection.

i'm looking for these as well, thanks for the info!

also, are these hard to replace by yourself? i was going to bring it into a shop and have them do it for me.

how about the WHOLE assembly including the corners? replacing the whole bessel, is it hard?

thanks in advance

Don't know on you truck, I have a 1st gen X. I had to take the whole grill assembly off and the headlight assembly is one piece with 4 screws, but dont know on a 95. The link below is where I got mine. Good luck.

The 95+ head lights are fairly simple to change, basically you need to take the corner lights off then you need to pull the bulbs out of the headlights. After that it should be 3 or 4 rubber tabs that need to be pressed together in order to get the headlight housing off.

For 95 & up You remove the Corner lights then the grill and then the headlights.
The grill has screws at top and behind corner lights and pull-out clips on the bottom.
The headlights have three little clips that you use needel nose pliars to squeese together & pull out.

Its not that hard to change out the headlights. It will only take about an hour to get everything off and back on. I had to replace mine after I totaled my front end and the fenders, bumper, hood. When you go to take the corner lens off. There is a plastic lip on the bottom of each corner len that will want to catch on your grill assembly.

This is still the best deal going. Thanks for the post Josh.

(search works!)
