I have a '94 explorer sport and the front seats have no lumbar support. I have used one of those lumbar additions for the last few years, but I'm tired of the lower backache from the seats. Should I ditch this vehicle or replace the front seats? (I'm the only owner and it has 75,000 miles on it). Where can you get replacement seats, and how much? I have not checked with any bone yards yet.

Thanks.

seems to me the old eddie bauer seats had lumbar and leather, and were electronically adjustable. I had the same back pains when i drove my 92 on road trips. granted droving 2000 miles a week is unusial, but there should be some support out there.

performance products has a ford catolouge out there. the stuff tends to be a bit pricy, but its good to see whats out there.

as for the truck, i personally loved my 92. my new one is good, but its so suburbanized it feels like a car. 75,000 is pretty low, my mom's 94 has 140,000 and still going great. you should be set for at LEAST another 100,000 with preventive mantenence and good care.

I think any of the seats out of an Explorer will fit, you just might have to change the tracks. I had a 91 XLT with power lumbar and my 92 didn't have them so I swapped them....its real easy. You also need to tap into a 12V source if you don't already have power.

I've seen lower back supports from Walmart which really work well. I rode in a suv (brand x) which had them and felt good. For me, I just purchased a set of buckets (mine has split fron bench) which came from a '91 from this guy on Ebay for $250. They just arrived and are in excellent shape and on the plus side, the grey cloth and design matches perfectly and have the lumbar supports too. Try doing a search on Ebay for Explorer Seats. Good luck!

Thanks

Thanks for the info - I will look for some of the Eddie Bauer seats and see what comes up.

Try and get seats from a Limited edtion Explorer. The Leather is better than a Eddie Bauer Explorer. .... (its thicker unlike the preforated kind) Note, I had to drill new wholes to get the seats to fit.

You cant change the tracks on Electric movement controlled seats
