Replacing 2004 liftgate with 2002

Among other questions i will have, How do you remove the two interior trim pieces from the liftgate? Whats the secret? All of the "clips" are detached and both pieces are now stuck to the liftgate near the release handle. Does the handle need to be removed in order to get the interior plastic pieces off???
Any hints/help would be appreciated.

with out having it in front of me, and going from memory I think the trim panel hooks over the glass latch, so the glass needs to be opened.

All I had to do was open the glass and the plastic interior pieces popped out. "Brain Fart" I guess, Thanks
