Replacing column shifter

I want to replace my column shifter with a new one, the current one has faded and has pieces broken off from it at the end where the low gear button is. I'm not quite sure about replacement for that component, I already have the new column shifter, I'm just not sure how to install it, I know I'll have to take the steering column apart to get to it. I'm just not quite sure on the replacement steps for it. Google and YouTube searching came back inconclusive.

Will replacing this also fix the issue of it not locking to park when the brake isn't applied?

udually theres a pin at least on the 2g that is the lockout unless youre on the brake immpretty sure so it may or may not dix it if its like the 2g design jt wont fix it need that pin!
