Replacing EGR DPFE Sensor

I am replacing the EGR DPFE Sensor and was wondering if this is a common problem? Also was wondering what the difference in fuel mileage would be. Right now it seems like my Explorer is just guzzling fuel faster and faster. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes this sensor os a common problem on many different Ford models and years. IF the EGR system is not working you will get bad MPG's.
