replacing front windshield

theres a crack on the bottom of my front windshield that is slowly creeping up the middle of my glass. anyone have any ideas what it costs to get it replaced? it's a 97 sport.

It is usually an insurance claim, with a $50 or $100 deductable. Do you not have insurance on this vehicle?

The local glass shop charges $150 up here.... My deductible was $200, so I didn't bother making a claim.

FWIW, make sure they use CARLITE or PPG glass, not cheap junk like Guardian. They had to come replace the Guardians three times due to ripples in the glassbefore they finally put in a Carlite. Looks like new! (Well, save for the stone chip I promptly got 2 weeks later!! DOUGHT!!!!)

and make sure they undercoat the scratches they made on the lips when they take the old glass out.
Mine explorer was destroyed by them installers, all the metal arond the windshield were rusted through within two years after the wind shield replacement.

Didn't cost me anything to have (2) replaced within a (3) week period recently!! 6/17th and 7/13th to be exact. In BOTH cases rocks where strewn out of dump trucks near a local rock quary.

Thank goodness for a ZERO Deductible on the Comprehensive part of my Insurance policy!! I've had State Farm for about (23) years and had about (10) windshields replaced by them.

Claims on your Comprehensive will NOT (in most cases) raise your Insurance rates.

i need to replace mine..its got 3-4 good long cracks. i only have liabilty. so its gotta be out of pocket. prices i have got is around $200.
