Happy new year folks. How difficult is it to replace a cigarette socket? I'ts a 1999 Sport. I purchased a portable navi and there is no power coming from the cigarette socket. The cigarette lighter works fine for some reason. I am thinking the tip is not connecting properly due to rust that built up inside the socket. Thank you!

i was wondering the same thing bc my cigarette port is burnt up, power going to it no power coming out. i think its fried. would like to know how hard it is to get the assembly out. i know on the first gens, in the ash tray, it was a royal pain to get the assembly out, and when i did it was twisted and mangled.

try cleaning it first. pull the fuse and use a small wire brush

that's what i did. i scraped the darn thing off using my mother's nail pusher :D sure enough it can now power my portable navigation :)

word of advice. don't do it at night. it's really difficult to see what your cleaning even with a flashlight.
