reset the computer

Is it as easy as disconnecting the battery? My O/D light is blinking, and I want to check it out. Thanks to this site I've got lots of great info. Thanks so much!

Welcome to the site.. the flashing O/D light means your transmission encounter some sort of problem. I do not suggest disconnecting the battery to fix this, your just post-poning whatever problems it experienced.

Yes, you can reset the computer by simply disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.


Unfortunately, a blinking OD light is usually a bad sign of tranny problems, and probably won't go away after reseting the computer.

Go to a local auto store that does the free scans, get the code and then bring it back here. I'm sure someone has dealt with it before or you could search and see exactly what has fixed the problem. Good luck.
