How many of you guys changed the tail pipe without the resonator on your sport trac and still get an inspection sticker. My 04 still has the original exhaust but the muffler needs to be changed. Of course its all one system. might have to replace the whole system.

Resonator shouldn't affect your state emissions inspection because it's not a catalytic converter.

Removing increases the drone, rasp, and loudness. How much depends on which system you have.

I still pass VA inspection without mine. I don't think there would be much difference in sound/volume if you put an aftermarket muffler on without removing the resonator. There are no sensors in it like swshawaii said about it not being a cat.
