2000 Mounty V8 AWD appears to be sagging somewhat in the back,so I started poking around the factory load-leveling apparatus and found the plastic link rod for the ride height sensor.Looks like I can shorten it about 3/8" by cutting a section out and gluing it back together to give me about a 1" lift.Looks a lot better!

I marked the air shocks and the raise on them is also about an inch.Has anyone tried this, and any repurcussions or long term effects? Ride quality?

I used to have a B2 and put air shocks on it and it made a world of difference in handling and ride quality.

I also tow periodically,so I'm thinking I'll get another rod to modify and use the original for towing for less stress on the air shocks. They just snap on and off pretty easy.

My Ex has the ride height adjustable air shocks on the front and back. I shortened the sensors like you are talking about about two years ago. Gave me an extra inch or so and have had no problems whith the mod whatsoever. Just dont shorten them too much, or your suspension will be maxed out and the ride will be too harsh.

Thanks for the good news. Now I need to decide which 31/10.50's to get!

I couldn't purchase an extra link without buying the whole height sensor assembly, nor could I find one at the local wrecking yard. So,I just modded the original one.I cut 3-1/2" out and added a small turnbuckle for infinite adjustability. Some Coax Seal from Rat-shak around the threads keeps the turnbuckle from wriggling out of adjustment.Link to a pic below.

Seems to work ok and no noticeable difference in the ride quality.

Decided to go with GY Wrangler Silent Armor 31's.I'll post a pic of the Mounty in a few days with the new skins.
