Ok so this might seem like a really stupid question. Car audio is my specialty. Not rims, so I could really use some help.

I found some 20s on Craiglist that I might buy but do not know if they will match up.

There 20s that are universal 5 lug that were meant to go on a Toyota Camery but didn’t fit.

My truck is a 94 X XLT 4x4.

So would they work out? I have seen people before put rims on a 4x4 X but what do you do with that nasty hub that sticks out from the front tires that says 4X4 on it?

Thanks guys!

Easy fix. Trade me your 4x4 for my 2wd :-)

You're only at the completely opposite end of the country.

I would call and ask for the style number or part number of the rim and look up the weight they can support.

I don't like the idea of a rim that was going to be put onto a TOYOTA CAMRY onto a FORD EXPLORER which is probably twice if not three times the weight. Just my opinion...

As for the 4x4 hub, you could always try to see if you can find a rim that has a cover that can cover it, or paint/chrome it so it looks like part of the rim, and just make up something that matches for the rears.

Unless its a universal suv 5 lug I don't see it fitting. The universal 5 lug sedan I believe is 5 on 100. Not to mention the hub will be the issue if its a sedan wheel since the hub center on the wheel will need to be cut on a lathe or similar.

I can see the weight issue but if you were going to get a really good deal would you do it? So the rims would work? As long as the rims bolt pattern matches, can you put any rim on a 4x4? Or is there specific 4x4 rims you have to buy?

Crap! :thumbdwn: For real?

The Camry is FWD, so I am guessing the offset is all sorts of off for an Explorer...

i would never trust those rims on my explorer. the ride woudl be horrible unless you got bigger/thicker tires.

i'm personally going with a cobra replica wheel from a local place. it'll support the weight of my vehicle fine, and be lighter then a steel wheel, plus i'll have the same circumference as my stock wheels so my speedometer/tranny/engine won't be hurting.

I don't really car for the ride. My bass has destroyed my X. Everything rattles and shakes. Not worried bout the ride. Just tired of looking at my All terrain tires.

Would running the front rims without the center caps work?

it would. center caps are just made to try and keep dirt/grime out of there.

by looking at these, there is enough that doesn't match that it wouldn't be a good choice.

i'd be worried about the weight and type of lug used on the camry.

I see that the lug used on the Camery is 12mm x 1.5 and the X has a 1/2- RH. Whats that all mean?

That just means the lugnuts are different. The Camry is metric, the Explorer is SAE.
