Limited 2013 302a
Just returned from dealer and completing paperwork on order
2013 white limited with trailer tow 302a pkg. and polished 20 wheels

My question is I noticed some explorers have a high polish on the wheels and others are shiny but flat finish on the same style 20in wheels. I was only given one choice for a polished 20 in wheel. Is there any thing to this or just how they come I did ask and was told just this is how they come and some of the flat finish might be in the clear coat of the wheel.

I have the 2011 Limited and 20" painted aluminum wheels are standard. The polish aluminum are a $650 option.
I just checked out the Ford.com website and the 302A package includes as stand equipment the 20" painted aluminum wheels. Looks like you were sold a $595 option for the polished wheels.

Well, when I purchased my Limited in 2011 there where 2 wheels available in the 20". The standard 20" wheel on the Limited is a very nice painted (with clear coat) silver wheel. The optional 20" wheel is a polished aluminum wheel (it too is clear coated). The optional wheel has much more shine. The wheels are slightly different in their spoke design. The standard wheel is more of a 5 spoke, while the optional wheel is a split 5 spoke (10 smaller spokes).

Yes I did go for the upgrade polished wheels
When I walked the lot at dealer this is when I noticed the same upgraded wheel on the limited some look almost chrome others are polished but it looks like clear coat over aluminum that wasn't polished well same style wheel

Just be advised that the polished aluminum wheels are not clear coated which would be easy to repair later on, they are powder coated clear. Much more difficult to repair. at least a wheel repair facility can easily repair your 20" painted wheels if you curb them up parallel parking.
