rims for manual hubs

hey, i got a 92xlt with the manual hubs from the factory on the stock (jurassic park) rims. i was looking at buyins some used wheels/tires and was wondering how would i be able to turn the hubs if the new wheels cover it? do you just leave the center cap off, or get the dremel out? thanks for the help.

Nobody replied in nearly 20 years?!?

I'll answer for the others that may come across this same issue...

Drill a hole in your new center caps. (1" is easy to find grommets/plugs for at auto parts stores in the trailer bearing cover section)

Find a short length of 1" PVC and notch the end with a saw/grinder so it fits nicely onto your lockouts. You can even add a "tee" fitting to it for extra leverage if you're feeling creative.

Now you have new rims, a new access hole for your lockouts, and a new tool to keep in the door... Plugging the hole in the center cap is optional and looks best if your setup is black.
