i got a ford exlorer...its a 4x4, i would have got a 2wd...but i couldnt find one. anyhow i was lookin under it and i see that the bracket for the right i-beam is on with Rivets and the left is on with bolt...now how would i get these Rivets out so i could put the 2wd brackets so i can get the rest of the 2wd parts on. also what would i use inplace of the Rivets ...grade 8 bolts?

you can use a 4 inch angle grinder or a torch if you are creative and careful , I used grade 8 bolts when I cut mine out to replace my radius arm bushings :D

hey look your from indiana also

hey I didnt realize there were so many people on here from conr country to !

well I have no clue how well this would work "outside the shop", but you could use an air hammer with a chisel, and get the head of the rivet off that way, then use a hammer and punch to knock it out.

hey.. I saw it on Trucks! when they were installing a Camburg lift on a Prerunner Ranger :D

I'm not trying to start anything or be an a**hole, but why do you want a 2wd over a 4x4? Gas mileage or something?

From a fellow hoosier

I took mine to a local Raben Tire and they knocked them out and replaced them with grade 8 bolts for $40.00. I called just about every tire and muffler place in Evansville and it sounds like that is what they all use.

what did you get done? was it a 2wd one or what? ...you dont live to fare from me do ya:cool:

low_X, I had the 4 rivets on the radius arm brackets knocked out and replaced them with bolts so changing out the bushings will be easier:D Mine is a 4wd. Evansville is the very southwest point of Indiana.
