I am sure, scratch that, I know I have done stupider, just got lucky I guess. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hope everything works out OK.

Sorry i gotta say! YOUR A DUMB A$$. Learn how to drive you could have killed someone cause you were in a hurry. Hope you learn for this one buddy!

Screw what happened to the vehicles!

You never mentioned if the other passenger's in the Toyota where injured or not. :(

I pray to God everyone came out of this unfortunate ordeal unscathed!

Please don't take this the wrong way, I don't mean to be hateful, but it's  like you that really get me:fire: when I gotta come outta the firehouse into the cold because some knuckle head is tryin' to hotrod on bad roads just because they gotta truck. Sorry just a pet peave. I'll still be there to cut you outta your truck no matter the weather or how dumb people get.

guess i should have mentioned everyone was fine. i know i might come as some reckless person, and maybe for a split second i made a bad choice, but everyone came out fine. no injuries, no deaths. The x is gone, but ive learned my lesson. Im gonna work my @ss off and try to get a new sport. So everyone that thinks im some @sshole. what do you want me to say? the past is past and im moving on. but can u get off my back about my mistakes?

Its a hell of a hard way to learn a lesson but sounds like you are a little wiser now.;)

Haven't seen this yet

Not one single person has mentioned driver education.

Better driver education would stop most accidents like this one.

Another thing, it's funny to me how Americans tend to view driving as a right. It's a privilege, that's it.

There's no amendment to the Constitution saying that you even have the right to own a car, truck etc. But there is for guns?!? And year-to-year, car accidents kill more people than guns do in America.

Go figure. Just my 2 cents.

Jon

(I too am an American who loves his vehicles, all 5 of them. I'm not anti-gun or gun control advocate either. What I love more than both are the freedoms all Americans enjoy - let's keep them all!)
;)

Well I have to say I know where you are coming from, and am not going to give you a hard time. I have done something very similiar with better results but still learned my lesson.
I was driving from Minnesota to Arizona (moving in the military) in an '80 Trans Am. I was in Iowa and it had snowed and the freeway was only plowed in the right lane. The car in front of me was only doing 25 mph and there was a long line of cars behind us. I felt it would be safe to do about 45-50 so I decided to pass him. I started to get in the left lane which hadn't been plowed yet and the car suddenly went completely sideways a full 90 degrees. I was looking out the passenger side window to see where I was going and looked out the drivers side window to see the lady behind me doing this  . I was fortunate enough to be able to countersteer it back into control and managed to get the car back into the right lane. The person in front of me got the point and sped up to 45 and nobody tried to pass anyone again.

So I know where you are coming from. Don't drive faster than the conditions allow is all fine and good, but the person in front of you will probably be driving alot slower than the conditions allow and it is nearly impossible to pass them in the snow safely.

You really have to appreciate people like that. I came across an accident on my way home from Moab. it was snowing and the roads were covered.

The accident was really bad and they were cutting the occupants out. Thing is there were only like 4 rescue guys there. In a more urban area the same accident would have brought out a huge response team. I really admired those guys working out in the wet and cold helping someone else.

as soon as the accident happened, a local sheriff came within a min.. then the local police came within 3 mins. nobody was hurt, and no rescue team was needed. i was fortunate enough to walk away with no injuries( built ford tough) and the other people were fine too. ive learned my lesson, and will definately not do anything this stupid again.

yeh.. is an elite member willing to post for me? im currently home. will be returning to school where the pics are on mon. if someone can post them for me.. i can send them mon..

im sure ill get alot more heat because the car isnt that bad. it would definately been a good fixerupper. i was planning on either dropping it or lifting it after a few more years and makin it trully an off road car. but i got into the accident 300 miles away from home.. and with towing the car back hom was almost $1000. the rear axle was not aligned properly, and the rear roof was a bit sunk in,, but nothing too bad. i could have just driven it after i got a new rear axle.. but it would have cost too much to tow it home and fix it myself, or to get it done, so i had to sell it. im working now, looking into police and federal auctions, to get a 01 sport. once you go exploder, you never stray....

Pretty well

It actually looks like it held up pretty well considering...

Were you banged up at all? Seat belt marks?

Bummer, dude.

Jon

i didnt get a scratch.. except a little burn on my pinky from my steering wheel.. guess it rubbed a little .. but nothing.. no whiplash, no seat belt marks. i really wish i kept the car to fix.. but would have cost money that i dont have
