'97 Ranger XLT
My 97 Ranger XLT has elect. locks. They work from inside the truck to both lock and unlock the doors. I am unable to make the key fobs work. I have put new batteries in both key fobs. I also have a new underhood main battery and still nothing. This truck has a 4.0 engine with 103,000 miles on it. The local Ford dealer wants $79.95 to diagnose the problem.
Any suggestions, please.
Thanks

Have you tried programming them?
turn the ignition to on and off 8 times (the locks will cycle) then press any button on the fob. (the locks will cycle again) there's a better write up somewhere if you search for "program key fob"

Other thread deleted - pls dont double post, thx!

Yes, Brad. I and the guy at the dealership have both tried reprogramming the fobs but no luck. I am thinking it is the elect. lock module in the panel behind the drivers seat.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
RM
