The paint is chipping off the roof rack on my '99 Explorer. Any ideas what to repaint it with?..Anything in particular or just spray paint it with rustoleum? Thanks
i sanded mine down, primed it then used spray on bed liner. this was going on 4 years ago and it is holding up well. for the plastic, end pieces i pulled those off and painted them body color after priming and they are holding up suprisingly well also.
i need my racks, my fog lights are mounted to the front one. and the rear one is right behind my spare tire rack just for peace of mind that the spare dun come off LMAO. but i also need to repaint them both so they look decent and match the spare tire roof rack.......
I took mind off and used a dremel to take the remaining paint off, its galvanized so I took some of that off as well but I used rustolem primer then a few coats of emanel rustolem, see how it holds up to the winter. I hated it when it was peeling, the chips would get into my wash mitt.
