Roof rust issue?

Has anyone had an issue or been told there might be an issue with rust development in the rear of the roof near the hatch hinge points on 2020 Explorers? I had a buddy at work that was told by the dealer body shop while investigating another issue that he had indications of a leak and possible future rust issues in his rear roof area. It sounded like the dealer was aware of the issue on other Explorers and was warning him. He ended up selling the vehicle and buying an F150.

Did your "buddy" have a 6th gen Explorer? The 5th gen was known to have issues with water leaks. One area was the liftgate seam.

He had a 2020 Explorer. Could be the body shop guy was aware of the 5th gen issues though.
