Roof Scoop Idea?

Maybe it would look nice if you turn it around and put it on the front end of the hood... maybe...

might look sick on a subaru.
and i actually like the look of that PT Cruiser.

I know the subaru WRC vehicles use roof intakes. it forces cool into the cabin and cools the engine compartment as well.. dont know how they do the hose routing.. but on the rally cars they are functional!

there is a functional one

Im thinkin they dont vent a window for when they are on dusty courses...Im sure those scoops have filters in them

tell me there is not one person on this forum that would not drive that car......it may not look so great but that thing is a beast!

I'd drive it to a dealership and sell it.:D I don't know, but there might be a certain hood scoop that would look good on a street Explorer. I'm definately not a fan of the one on the PT Cruiser however.

98FordX24's 83 mustang blister looks like it was meant to be put on a street X, i wished i had the money to do something like it!

one question, how does the sunroof open anymore to let air in like you said it did...

Hopefully that PT doesn't have the 'tilt' mode, huh?

I think that scoop would totally contrast the body lines of a 1st gen X. It looks aight on that PT though. Wonder if it would fit on our hoods backwards... :p

The hose routing on any race car will look ghetto as f**k to anyone primarily concerned with street driving. All the duct work is is like that house-heat-duct kinda stuff, but not metal (ya know, like the tube is yellow or red cloth stuff and the "frame rings" are black). The reason they dont just vent a window is because the windows dont move- they are lexan/plexiglass/something not moveable/something not real glass. Roof scoops on front-engined cars only let air into the cabin to cool the driver (no engine benefits), and obvisouly on rear-engined cars, roof scoops duct air to the engine for either cooling or air-intake for the engine, depending on the individual configuration of the car.
