I have a 97 XLT with a 5.0 and AWD. It has 2 new rear cats and i think the front 2 are original. I have 193,000 on it and still strong!! But, when I step on it hard to get up to highway speed or pass, I get this rotten egg smell in cab. Is this a sign of running rich? Could it be plugged cats? Plugged EGR, or maybe PCV? I was thinking of replacing the coils also. Plugs and wires were done last summer('09). Also, when stepped on, it sounds like it is really sucking hard, and the throttle response is for crap. Any ideas would be great.
