SO, my electric fan took a dump on me today (a wire lead came undone, and i have it working AOK again), but this didnt come to my attention till a check gauge light came on and my engine began to idle very rough, i imediately pulled into a parking lot and reattached the mechanical fan(yeah... i still had it and the clutch tools with me...). ive now driven 20 or so miles and the rough idle is still there, anyone have any ideas? also coolant didnt expand enough to overflow from the tank...so idk?

bump. Engine still idles rough after 60 miles. Anyone? Runs fine apparently..just a bad idle.

yup, Idles gone back to normal after a fresh tank of gas and a camping trip... so who knows.

nevermind. Limited the cops are good to go. Rough idle still present. Began shortly before overheat light and hasn't gone away. Any possabilities of warped cylenderheadys already? How about a busted gasket?

Had a similar problem on a chevy. I cooked the temp sensor and it caused timing and fuel problems resulting in rough idle

thanks! I went ahead and picked up a ETC sensor from ford at a frightfull price of 50 bucks, But for the life of me i havnt been able to find out where it goes. Anyone with some insight? ive heard the truck 4.6L's only have CHT sensors...so why did they sell me a ETC? Google hasnt been of help, nor has my manual.

I used my SCT3 the other day to see if there's any codes in my Ex and the IAT sensor came up bad. Went to Autozone and bough one for $15 bucks and it's useless because we have an IAT built into the MAF sensor:( Now I need to see if they'll take it back.

I'll look into your problem when I get home tonight.
