Rough Idle on 1998 Explorer?

My Explorer's RPM is all over the place! Sometimes when it's in park it got crazy high & when I'm driving down hill it goes to almost zero. I got the suggestion to replace the throttle position sensor, did that & still is running a little rough. I don't have an engine light on or anything. I'm at all loss as what to do, could really use them help!

IAC valve. Unplug it while it is running. If it the idles settles down, then there is your answer. Its a pretty common issue on Fords.

Thanks! I'll try that. I really need it fixed, I've been driving my husband's 1989 Dodge Ram 1500 mud truck & it's not so good on gas!
