Hey guys, I have a quick question hopefully someone can help me! I recently did an engine rebuild about 3 months ago on my explorer, and all went well putting it back.
Recently i've noticed that when its in Park, or Neutral and one gives it a quick punch (pushing the throttle quickly) the cars RPMs will actually drop, and then shoot up to where they should. Its not rough idling, its as smooth as butter, but I dont know if this is normal.
My 4 other cars (Lexus RX, Audi A4, BMW 330, and 06 Explorer v8) dont drop when you give there throttles a quick jab. They just go up, so I dont think this is normal on my 93 to be doing this.
On a quick note, when I was putting the car back together, the throttle body had a screw (it was a really small 8mm or so) that determined how much air went into the manifold while it was idling. Could having moved this one slightly have caused this?? I didn't move it myself on purpose, but when it was off the car I accidently turned it, and then realized I shouldn't have done that so I "eyeballed" it back to where I thought it was.
